We put on Clue this past fall. It was our best selling fall show yet.
Broadway Licensing provides you with a lot of extra stuff in the way of digital marketing materials and suggestions for the show. You receive a piano book of music for the show. We used a live pianist. That is all you need. It was well received and added a nice touch to the show. Plus it allowed vamping when scenes were taking a little longer to change. They also provide you with a digital file with sound effects.
Tech wise, we rented extra follow spots to have one for each character. We used a few "dummies' from Amazon, a cat on a remote control car, a trick refrigerator with false back we borrowed from a local college, and many secret passages and hidden doors.
It's definitely worth doing.
I think you'll enjoy it.
Here's a partial view of the set. The kitchen was to my right and the library was far stage right in front of the curtain. The rest of the rooms fit in the two story set. Sorry it's blurry.

We are putting on Clue: On Stage this spring. I'd love to hear about any tech issues, set ideas, etc. Also wondering about music and sound effects? Do you recommend renting or doing your own? If you did not rent, how many musicians are needed?
