    Does anyone have a good post production survey that goes out to parents for feedback on the overall experience?  I'm looking for some ideas for questions.

    I send a survey out to my parents and students after almost every production.  It has worked very well to gather useful information, without encouraging "what's wrong".   I use SurveyMonkey, so that my answers are all in one convenient location.  This way I don't have to sift through emails.  There are 3 simple questions for each.  

    STUDENT SURVEY

     What were the strengths of the rehearsal and performance process?  If possible, give one or two examples.

     What are our opportunities for growth?  If possible, give one or two suggestions on how the process can be better for you.

     Is there any way we could have helped you be more successful in the production?  Is there any way we might have made the process more meaningful?

     

    PARENT SURVEY

     What were the strengths of the production?  If possible, give one or two examples.

     What are our opportunities for growth?  Please give any suggestions or examples you have that might make the rehearsal process or performance better.

     Is there any way we can help your child be more successful?  Are there ways we might make the process more meaningful?

    While I don't have one I'd recommend checking one of your local equity theatre companies that does student matinee's. I know I fill one out when I take kids on field trips.

    I don't have one, but I love this idea. I would make it short and sweet and easy to fill out so you would have more of a chance of follow-through.
    Some questions I might ask are:

    1. How entertaining did you find the show:
    ​     Very Entertaining    Somewhat Entertaining     Not Entertaining
    2. How prepared/professional were the cast and crew:
         Very Professional     Somewhat Professional    Not Professional
    3. Did you feel the pricing of the tickets was fair for the entertainment provided:
         Very Fair     Somewhat Fair     Not Fair
    4. How effective were the technical elements of the show (lighting, sound, set):
        Very Effective    Somewhat Effective    Not Effective
    5. Would this be a performance you would recommend to a friend:
        Highly Recommend   Somewhat Recommend    Not Recommend
