    I'm looking for short (3-5 minute) dramatic duet acting scenes for two males. Currently I use Ordinary People and K-2. Any suggestions? ------------------------------ Linda Button Springdale AR ------------------------------

    Just saw 'Pippin' here in Tampa on its national tour. There's a fairly dramatic, weighty scene between Pippin and his dad, Charlemagne - it ends with Charlemagne's death at the hands of his son. Pretty intense, and I was thinking, "Wow, what an excellent intense scene for two males - I hope someone asks for recommendations for a dramatic duet scene for two males!"

    Death of a Salesman - son/father scenes throughout

    Seminar - some intense (and funny) scenes between an older writer and an aspiring writer

    Othello? - Iago and Othello

    I can't think of others right now, but gimme a couple hours, I'll swing back with more.

    My boys have been really into Of Mice and Men and The Diviners lately.  There are some great George/Lennie scenes sin OFAM and good scenes between the dad and CC or CC and Buddy in Diviners.

    Can't believe I forgot about 'True West' by Sam Shepard. Awesome play with some really intense scenes throughout. Frankly adult, deals with sibling rivalry and the difficulty (or ease) of trying to swap roles...love that play!

    Also might want to look The Migrant Farmworker's Son, by Silvia Gonzalez. Several scenes between Henry, a 16 year old, and his grandfather. Deals with immigration issues, but well written.

    It is really hard to find quality, quality male-male pieces, you know that? :)
