    Hey all,

I'm thinking of producing Cinderella next year and was hoping someone had a design for the carriage. I'm kind of limited because I had wrist surgery and don't have a firm date when I'll be able to use power tools again. I'm really hoping for something simple since I may be limited still.

I got the idea for our carriage from this forum.  You can find a number of youth canopy beds online that have a "pumpkin" shaped carriage canopy.

We bought this one from Amazon: DHP Metal Carriage Bed, Fairy Tale Bed Frame, Shabby-Chic Style, Twin, White
Mounted it on a rolling wagon platform (mostly painted black but then added "benches" inside of it and added a shaft with a couple of crossbars on it for the "horses" to use to pull it.

Then wrapped it in 400 feet of LED lights and orange tule.
LightsEtc 200 Led String Lights Fairy Lights Battery Operated Waterproof Fairy String Lights with Remote Control Timer 8 Modes 66ft Copper Wire Christmas Lights Christmas Decor Warm White

The wagon and wood we used we had in stock....so, all in all, probably cost us around $225.  An idea I had too late in the game was to sell raffle tickets for someone to win the bed after the show was over.

We did Cinderella last fall.  With limited scenery building time and no off-stage construction/storage space, we just couldn't build anything decent.  A ballet company in town has a carriage that they use for the Cinderella ballet, but that was touring at the time we needed it.  You might check ballet companies in the Phoenix area.  We ended up renting a carriage from a youth theater company based in the Chicago area that was listed on the R & H resources page.  It was not cheap to rent and transport (about a 6 hour drive), but it was pretty impressive.  We recouped some of the cost by offering audience members the chance to have their photo taken in the carriage after each performance (then e-mailed digitally).
