So first and foremost, I would recommend the
College Directory here on schooltheatre.org. I've already generated a search for those that specifically have a
Playwriting degree. According to Broadway World, here are schools that offer a
BA in Playwriting and
BFA in Playwriting. These aren't complete lists by any means but are good places to start.
As a graduate of NKU, they do have a lot of opportunities for the BFA Playwriting students. Brian Robertson, who teaches Playwriting I and II is an incredible professor. They can stage their works in classes, the studio series, or as part of weekly department-wide assemblies. There are also opportunities outside the university. The Know Theatre of Cincinnati has a program called
Serials where they regularly ask for submissions for new short, episodic plays. There is also the Cincinnati Fringe Festival which is a great chance to submit your work as well.
