I'm not sure if you are looking for more of an overview of the curriculum, but here is my syllabus. I ran it as a semester long class this year (this was my first year teaching it), so I learned a few things semester one and changed things for semester two. (The main change being I had the actors learning about camera angles, types of shots, etc, then screen acting, which I flip-flopped S2.)
I struggled with the students not having very great ideas for their short films. I tried to do lessons on irony, character, protagonists, etc. but don't feel that we came up with very strong stories. I have two cameras, but when we get to the editing portion, I am struggling with how to keep the other kids engaged in something meaningful since I only have one computer we can edit film on. They can rehearse scenes, but without the ability to see their work on screen, they lose interest.
I think next year I will make each semester a genre-based focus, and the students can watch movies related to the genre and learn more analysis of the choices and motifs within the film.
If anyone has other materials or ideas they are willing to share, I would be very interested. I will put a couple of screen acting activities I created in the library.
