Advocacy Leadership Network Seeking New State Chapter Members
The Educational Theatre Association’s Advocacy Leadership Network (ALN) will begin accepting applications for new state chapter members on November 15.

EdTA’s 10th Annual Democracyworks Essay Competition will Begin Accepting Entries on Dec 1
The Educational Theatre Association’s tenth annual Democracyworks essay competition will begin accepting entries on December 1. The winner will receive $1,500 toward expenses to attend Arts Advocacy Day in Washington, D.C., March 12-13, 2018, plus $250 cash.

EdTA Releases National Individual Events Training Videos
The Educational Theatre Association has released the first series of National Individual Event Training Videos.

EdTA Introduces New Fundraising Arm, the Educational Theatre Foundation

Now we mark a new step with the launch of the Educational Theatre Foundation, which has been formed as the fundraising arm of EdTA, to provide financial support to enhance theatre education and to expand access to school theatre programs for every student. (EdTA)

EdTA JumpStart Theatre Initiative Leaps to National Stage with Major Gift from NBC Chairman Robert Greenblatt

The Educational Theatre Association (EdTA) announced that Robert Greenblatt, Chairman of NBC Entertainment, made a sizable personal donation to EdTA earmarked for JumpStart Theatre. (EdTA)

Review of Evidence: Arts Integration Research through the Lens of the Every Student Succeeds Act

This literature review explores research available on arts integration activities and finds 44 that could qualify for ESSA funding (10 studies met Tier I-III evidence standards for strong, moderate or promising evidence, while 34 met the Tier IV standard for having a research-based rationale). (Wallace Foundation)

Report: Dozens of Arts Programs Could Receive Funding Under Federal Education Law

Dozens of “arts integration” programs, which employ artistic expression as a means of teaching a variety of subjects, are eligible for federal funding under the Every Student Succeeds Act, according to a new study from the American Institutes for Research. More investigation into the efficacy of the method is needed, the authors report, but 10 such programs have already been shown to meet ESSA’s highest evidentiary standards. (The 74 Million)
