Back to school! The temperatures are still warm, but students and teachers here in Cincinnati are already back in school. We gathered some insight about their anticipated challenges and aspirations related to their involvement in the program.

"I am looking forward to seeing the childrens' language and self confidence develop. Getting through the challenges of student pressure and or shyness could be the most difficult." Ligia Cuevas Johnson, Roberts Academy

"I can't wait for kids to come together and support each other through the highs and lows of the season. Seeing them glow after they learn something new or nail a dance move for the first time never gets old!" Kelsey Hillebrand, Holmes Middle School
"What I am most looking forward to this year is the opportunity to offer theatre and all of the components associated with the theatre to our students. This is an exciting year for our students and families alike, to learn about themselves in a way they have not encountered in the past. Biggest challenge... learning about the ups and downs that will happen during the process. Transportation issues, lack of confidence, learning how to navigate through these and hopefully have stronger kids and an amazing performance." Tracy Power, Roberts Academy

"We are most looking forward to seeing the kids excitement for the new show. Not many know which production we are doing yet and we are eager to tell them. We are excited to see where they take it now that they have a year under their belts. I think the biggest challenge will be the music, as the one we are doing is a little more in depth and it will be more challenging for the students. We look forward to seeing them rise to the occasion!" Felicity-Franklin team
iTheatrics Junior Teaching Intensive JumpStart Theatre mentor Dee Anne Bryll earned certification as a Level One iTheatrics Method Educator, thanks to her participation in an iTheatrics Junior Teaching Intensive this summer in New York. The course emphasized experiential learning, active skill building, and an overall focus on telling a story, to demonstrate best practices and empower participants. Dee Anne shared, "It was a wonderful workshop! Teachers attended from across the country. They were so interesting and I learned so much that will be helpful this year." Participation is the first of three steps towards becoming an endorsed iTheatrics Method Instructor.
