I just returned from seeing Uncle Vanya at the Guthrie. It was a funny and at the same time meloncholy performance.
My question is: Is this show too deep to stage at the high school level. It is so powerful, but as I think about my student actors, I would be hardpressed to find one who could carry this show off.
If you think it IS appropriate for high schoolers, any tips on how to get the kids to explore the depths of this piece?
