To my fellow class of 2016, congratulations and always remember to "Act well your part!" My next chapter is taking me to Anderson University (South Carolina School of the Arts), a school known for it's Christian faith and Liberal Arts Programs. It frightens me to leave the high school troupe that I poured my heart into (5368 Represent!), but the transition will help me grow as a performer.
I have ambitious goals to make changes to my school's theatre department once the directors trust me. I would like to encourage them to get involved with EDTA to see some of the fabulous actors and actresses from more schools than just ones within the South East. I want AU to visit and audition students at different state Thespian Conferences to recruit new talent! Lastly, I also want to start theatre fundraising projects to raise money for Broadway Cares- Equity Fights Aids.
With that being said, if anyone has any questions about Anderson's theatre program, fire away! My inbox is always open! I would also love some feedback and suggestions on how to encourage my future directors to step up their recruitment game. The program is absolutely wonderful, but I am always looking for improvement. I guess like Alexander Hamilton, I'm never satisfied and that's alright! Here's to new chapters, exciting changes, and theatre excellence!!
