Which Shakespeare should be next...?

    Hello, Friends!

It was great visiting with you all in Bloomington last month! The thread about "next year's season" brought to mind a similar question I face every year. I recently received a large grant to support my touring one-man "Breakneck" versions of Shakespeare's plays, and I usually spend 6-9 months memorizing each show and getting them up to speed. Past tours have included "Shakespeare's Histories," "Hamlet," "Julius Caesar," "Comedy of Errors," "Romeo & Juliet" and "Twelfth Night" (new this year). Aside from "Midsummer" (which I produced as a 6-person event), which show might best support your schools' curricula?

Or, perhaps another way to look at this question: "What Shakespeare play that is central to your program presents particular challenges for your students to understand or appreciate?"

I try to trade off between comedies and tragedies, so I'm leaning towards a tragedy for next year, but I'd love to prioritize my work according to real-world challenges.
