I have a confession to make. As I watch the EdTA staff add value upon value to the content of this year's Theatre Education Conference (Early Educator Track, Research Round Tables, Culturally Responsive Pedagogy, and the typically impressive range of curated workshops), I think I stopped going to TEC for the scheduled stuff a long time ago. Don't get me wrong. It's great. And I'd have a hard time justifying the trip if I didn't know I could count on an exceptional level of PD content. But -- for me -- there is so much value to be found in the "in-between" times (over meals ... in the lobby conversation areas ... strolling through the Exhibit Hall), the specifics of the content almost don't matter to me anymore. I've often said that it's the "A" in EdTA that gets me the most excited about being a member. It's all about the ASSOCIATION with my fellow professionals in the field. There's just no replacing the face-to-face opportunities that come with live events like TEC, and I really felt that during the remote times in the aftermath of 2020. So, if you're going to TEC (and you should!) please look for me in between things! I'm looking forward to connecting and reconnecting with so many of you! What are you looking forward to most in Minneapolis?
