For some reason we are having a hard time with projection but also SLOWING down. I've tried my tricks and lessons but it doesn't work.  We have the honor of performing at our State Conference as a mainstage and I'd like to have the kids work with some guests to learn some new tools to perform vocally the best they can.  This is for The Taming of the Shrew.  We are located almost dead center Missouri in Sullivan. We'd gladly work via video calls or in person!

Note: I've tried audience surveys, showed them adjudicator feedback, etc, we've watched back video from different sections of the theatre so they can experience what the audience does - to no avail.

    Hi, Kimberly!

I've been on tour doing just this kind of guest artist work (especially as it applies to Shakespeare and voice) with schools for the last 20 years or so. I go through Missouri a couple of times every year. (Next pass-thru around January 21-22.) I'd love an opportunity to support you and your students.

    Hi Kimberly,

Oh man, no doubt I've seen a BIG rise in this problem since the pandemic. I'm a working Voice & Speech teacher at LACHSA and the Lee Strasberg Institute. And a St. Louis native! More than happy to come out your way. Usually I throw in some Dialects work-- teens are more likely to open their minds to performing vocally REALLY differently if they start with a dialect (British or ATL Southern) and then apply those changes to their natural accented voice.

    Good luck!
