Hi folks!
First of all, what a wonderful community I've stumbled upon! I'm excited to participate as the school year gets going.
Currently I'm working as an Instructional Assistant with some opportunities to teach theater after school. I love theater, and I love education, but I can't quite figure out the right degree to pursue in respect to these passions. Within theater, my focus is playwriting, and I know I'd enjoy focusing on that with an MFA. I get the sense that an MFA in Playwriting, as opposed to an MA or MEd, would make it harder to teach at the high school level. Of course, MFAs are incredibly competitive, so my current plan is to apply to several different types of programs and see what sticks.
I would appreciate any advice folks have to offer regarding degree types, programs, employability, or anything you think could be helpful. Thanks so much!
