PERSEVERANCE is a new educational play presented by Prime Stage Theatre and Holocaust Center of Pittsburgh and is available for streaming Apr. 24-May 7, 2023, thanks to a generous National Endowment for the Arts grant.

Adapted by playwright L.E. McCullough from the powerful 2019 memoir by Lee Goldman Kikel chronicling her father's post-Holocaust journey of healing and renewal in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania during the 1950s and '60s.

Perseverance is part of the annual enGAGE program marking Genocide Awareness Month. The play runs 65 minutes and is appropriate for audiences Grade 6 through adult.

Link for individual streaming tickets is here ... press "Get Ticket Code" which goes to the purchase page … viewing is also available for classrooms and groups.

As educators, we like to think Live Theatre Changes the World. Three decades into the process, I'm not sure if that always happens.

But getting the chance to tell the story of how Melvin Goldman worked to replace Darkness with Light, one piece of handcrafted jewelry at a time, is a good place to start.
