Can anyone share costume plot and/or prop list for Matilda Jr.

Any help on how to build the magic props would be greatly appreciated as well.

    Thank you in advance.

    I loved this show!
For the magic cake (which we just threw away or I would send to you)-- we used those dollar store foam squares used to put flowers in as our "chunks." My kids piled twelve of them together and shaved the edges down to make a tall, round cake. Then they covered each piece in brown material with decorative elements and put velcro squares between the chunks so they could be pulled apart easily for Bruce to "eat." We also had a little choc frosting hidden behind the cake for Bruce to smear on his face after his bites. Our cake was presented on a little rolling cart, center stage, which had a skirt around it to hide the shelf underneath. Bruce would take a giant chunk and "eat" it, then we would cover his dropping the slice onto the hidden shelf by having our dancers surround him briefly. Then they would open to reveal him taking another chunk, etc.
For the cup moving, we used fishing line threaded through the lower part of a plastic cup and pulled from off stage. Our cart for this was positioned just beside the DL curtain so line wouldn't be visible. We had to light it well, though, so the audience knew where to look.
We also had our chalkboard on the fourth wall and positioned all of our children facing the audience. I loved it this way, much more than seeing the children's backs. Our kids knew exactly where to look and how to look/point at the board as the writing appeared. We set this up the first time Honey appears by having her "write" on the blackboard, facing the audience down center, then having her go back and talking to the kids while walking through the aisle. Not sure if this make sense. If I can find still images, I'll send to you.
Our costume plot was designed around a simple grey/ red/ white dress that I had for Matilda. All of the kids' school clothes matched those colors-- grey blazers over white T shirts and any pants of thier own. The girls had grey or red cardigans over white tshirts and either dark colored or red skirts. I think our older kids wore multi colored Tshirts and our "extra" little kids just wore white T shirts. We do our shows on a very tight budget. Again, if I can find the stills, I will send to  you. Good luck!!
