    Hi!  Just wondering if anyone on here worked on "Leaving Iowa" in a high school.  How did the cast / audience enjoy it? I am going to start reading it, but wondering if it has the same vibe as "Almost, Maine" which I just did. (It doesn't appear that way from looking at a few videos, but just checking)

    I also usually need to cast 10 or more students and then double that with double casting.  It seems like this has a nice amount if flexible casting, though I see some roles might be too small for one person to play/   

    Any info. would be great!  I was originally going in the murder mystery direction, but hadn't found anything that I found truly funny.  Clue was recently done, so that is out. :( ...but any suggestions there are also welcome.  Thanks!!

    Monsters, In-Laws, and Trust Exercises is a comedy I wrote with an ensemble cast of 10 + 1 monster + several non-speaking roles that can be played by existing cast. It's up to read for free on New Play Exchange (or I'd be happy to send you a PDF if you'd prefer). It premiered in September of 2024 and both the audiences and the cast loved it!

    I saw a school's production of "Leaving Iowa" as an entry in our state competition. As someone who left Iowa myself as a middle-school-age kid, I was a fan of the title.  If I remember right, it had a cast of 20-ish, with several students playing more than one role. The school won Best in Show and advanced to the regional festival, so it must have worked.
