Hello Evret! My name is Tori and I work with Chapters here at EdTA. To clarify, starting a thespian troupe is not tied directly to the presence of a chapter in your location. Canada currently does not have a chapter and our current model is to assign you to the next closest chapter when you start a troupe or membership. This is so you are included on their communications list and will be better informed of any programming they offer. Starting a troupe or becoming a member is done directly through EdTA. There are no chapter dues or fees associated with chapter status. As a troupe director you are automatically a member of EdTA and will have access to our many resources, tools, and communities. If you would like to lean more about starting a thespian troupe, please email members@schooltheatre.org.
Best wishes,
Tori

Hello Everyone,
I'm reaching out for some advice on starting a troupe with the International Thespian Society (ITS). I'm based in Vancouver, Canada, and after checking the ITS website, I noticed that there aren't any Canadian chapters listed.
For those of you with experience, particularly fellow Canadian educators, I'd love to know how you navigated this process. Would joining the nearest chapter, like the one in Washington State, be an option?
Any insights or tips would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Evret
