  • 1.  Intermission in Clue HS?

    I don't know if I'm missing something, but in all the scripts and perusals I've seen, I haven't seen any that say where the split for intermission is. For anyone that has done this play, where did you split it?

    This is how I broke it down.

    Clue: High School Edition

    A Comedy with music in Two Acts

    The action of the play takes place just before dinner on a dark and stormy night

    at  Boddy Manor not far from Washington, D.C.

    Autumn, 1954

    Act One

    Prologue:              Main Hall

    Scene 1:                The Hall/Lounge

    Scene 2:                The Dining Room

    Scene 3:                The Study

    Scene 4:                The Hall outside the Billiard Room

    Scene 5:                The Lounge/Kitchen

    Scene 6:                The Study

    Act Two

    Scene 7:                The Hall

    Scene 8:                The Front Door

    Scene 9:                The Hall

    Scene 10:              The Hall

    Scene 11:              The Lounge

    Scene 12:              The Library

    Scene 13:              The Hall

    The Conclusion:   The Hall

    There will be one fifteen minute intermission between Act One and Act Two

    Produced by special arrangement with The Areca Group, Work Light Productions, and Michael Barra/Lively McCabe Entertainment

    I did the regular version so I'm not sure how it compares, but I broke it up between scene 8 and 9. They've just split up to search the manor and it felt like a good place to stop. I did a bit of the running around montage at the end of "Act 1" and then started "Act 2" with a bit more of the montage.

    We did this last year and we did not do an intermission. I felt an intermission would stop the pacing.
