Hi all! 
I have students working on costume construction for the first time for Thespys this year and we're a little confused about the requirements.

Do they need to create every single piece from scratch or could they alter something they purchase? For example, they purchased a skirt but they've cut it up and altered the size and the look of the piece but the waistband and most of the fabric is still within the design. Or they purchase a dress and build multiple pieces that go over it. 

Do they need to sew every seam or can they incorporate other methods like fabric glue or grommets and ties? The judging rubric mentions "construction" but does not state any specific methods.
