  • 1.  Behind the Scenes Curriculum Sound app

    Hello Educators,
I am using the Behind the Scenes Tech Theatre curriculum for a second time.  I need a sound app students can use on Chromebooks.  I used SoundTrap in the fall, so my free trial is used up.  Any suggestions?

Don't know about free trial(s), but Show Cue Systems is a pretty sweet program.

Audacity and Audiotonic are what we use. I am not sure if that's what you're looking for exactly, but it is pretty easy for my middle schoolers to use.

I use Audio Editor (formerly Beautiful Audio Editor when you are looking for youtube videos for how to show kids) which works well on Chromebooks. It is simple to use with only a few buttons (vs Audacity or QLab) and you can record voices, layer sounds, and in/out etc. and it does not need to be downloaded.

It is from RedCool Media https://www.redcoolmedia.net/build/audiostudio.html?service=redcoolmediaserver02&username=1439801

THANK YOU for this!!  I went looking for the Beautiful Audio Editor link to share in this thread and just got errors. I was worried it was gone.  (Updating the links in my lesson plans now, lol)

It should work well on Chromebooks. There is also a Chrome Extension for Audacity, but it is sooo clunky, especially compared to https://www.redcoolmedia.net/build/audiostudio.html

There's a great program called Wavosaur that doesn't require download and runs as a web-based sound software too.
