  • 1.  Beauty and the Beast Costumes

    Hi all -

My High School is performing Beauty and the Beast the second weekend of March. I have been looking around for a rental company that would allow for us to ONLY rent the enchanted objects. However, I have had no luck as most want groups to rent the whole package for about $6,500+.

Does anyone have any costume they are willing to rent, sell or leads to a source I might be missing.

    Thanks in advance!

    Good Morning Alexis,

I have directed "Beauty" three times over 17 years and have always used either The Costume Holiday House https://www.costumeholidayhouse.com/category/chh/theatre-rentals/
    or The Costumer
    https://www.thecostumer.com/c-3345-rental-costumes.aspx

for renting enchanted item costumes. They are very flexible with adapting to the needs of the show. I also use and recommend Heartland Costumes for Items such as the enchanted rose and magic mirror as well as promotional items to boost your show revenue.

Best wishes and break a leg!

We used Wagner Costumes last year for our production. We did a mostly whole package for about $2600; however, they might be willing to rent just the enchanted costumes. We rented all major enchanted creatures, the Beast, the enchantress, Gaston, Belle, Maurice, LeFou, a lot of villager dresses & petticoats, and men's costumes. These costumes came with multiple pieces and several characters had several costumes. The Beast had a crazy amount! We outfitted about 30 students (maybe a little less) through them. We rented costumes from a local place as well for some villagers whose sizes weren't compatible. We made our own napkin and silverware costumes. However, Wagner does have enchanted ensemble costumes; we just chose to make them to save money.

Wagner was WONDERFUL to work with. We had weather issues (blizzards) and they did everything in their power to ensure we got what we needed. I would 100% work with them again.

Here are pics of Lumiere, Cogsworth, Pots, Chip, and Babette. Madame de la Grande Bouche had a GREAT cabinet costume but I can't find a pic of it. Lumiere's hands light up and are controlled by the actor. We made the cart for chip but the head piece was Wagner's. Each enchanted creature also had an "after" costume, so I did put Madame's after dress below.
