  • 1.  Small/Medium Cast Musical with Female Lead

    Hi all,
    I'm on the hunt for a small-ish cast musical (10-15, though we certainly can double to cover more roles) with a female or gender flexible protagonist and very few guys. I'm currently looking at Firebringer (all ages edition, which still needs some tweaks for appropriateness), The 57th Math-lete SUM-It, and Junie B. Jones (no, I clearly don't have a type this year, LOL). Please don't suggest things like Quilters or Nunsense. I'm looking for hidden gems here. Thanks!!

    I don't know if this counts as hidden, but my cast and I loved doing Little Women. You will need a star who can belt for Jo. We squeezed in an ensemble, mostly in the two story scenes, but it could be done with as little as 10.

    Dear Edwina is perfect. Female lead, lots of featured moments, and only one of the male characters even really needs to sing. It's absolutely charming, and has a unit set. Costuming is easy, too.
