    A lot of theaters across America have made a commitment to producing more works by women and people of color. How great would it be for those of us in educational theater to make the same commitment to representation? 
    We have made the challenge that at least 50% of the work we produce will be written by women or people of color. This has really opened us up to a lot more exciting contemporary theater. Some of my student's favorite contemporary playwrights include Qui Nguyen, Sarah Ruhl, Lynn Nottage, Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and Lauren Gunderson.
