  • 1.  Sweet Charity -- Thoughts?

    Hello Theatre Community,

    I'm considering producing Sweet Charity with my high schoolers. Any thoughts on this? I'll admit I'm not terribly familiar with the show, really just know the basic outline of the story.

    Anyone foresee any problems or "deal-breakers"? Anyone foresee any potential for racial insensitivity or inappropriate promiscuity?

    ​I love the show. It is not done very often within the HS theatre community. I don't see any over the top deal breakers. Any content can be managed.

    I stage managed this show in college, you might have some issues, but depending on your community it might be a viable option. There is the "Big Spender" number that might be a little much. I know it wouldn't work for my community because of content.
