Have you skipped a British accent for Peter and the Starcatcher? or, recommendations for a tutorial on a British accent

I've often not done a British accent if I don't think it's necessary or if I think the actors can't pull it off ... but for some reason I'm really hesitating on skipping it for Peter and the Starcatcher, esp. for Molly, Stache, Lord Aster, and Peter. But my actors aren't picking it up easily - it's their first time - and I have too many other things to focus on.

On the other hand ... do you have a tutorial from online that you use to quickly and effectively teach kids a British accent?

    Thanks!
    Arden

My daughter said she used YouTube for Molly's accent. I don't recall what she searched for. It did take a couple weeks for her accent to be consistent.

We used a patsc  production handbook that talked about accents. In our production, only the British Subjects had an accent.

I haven't used it myself, but I saw the International Dialects of English Archive recommended by voice-over actors in a YouTube video and it seems an authentic corpus for something like this.  Each recording is of a native dialect speaker reading the same story and talking a bit, so you hear the same words in a variety of dialects along with them in their own natural speaking voice.

I thought it too good not to share, even if it might be an overwhelming body of work for a student to sift through.

I like Dialect Accent Specialist's STANDARD BRITISH ACCENT and COCKNEY tapes.
I get them from Drama Book Store in NYC but I think you can also get from Amazon,

    Hey Arden,

How much time do you have? I usually stray away from accents unless you have to have them in the context of the show. As you stated, many times that I have seen dialect, its either really good, or really poor.
