A good starter book in terms of information is
Technical Theatre for Nontechnical People by Drew Campbell. It does not have activities attached, but it is a great book in terms of one that hits many topics in a concise, easily understandable way. I would also recommend this book for directors and teachers that do their own technical work, or work with a technical person, to learn more about how to do either.
I also recommend
classwithbryan.com, especially the
slides section. Bryan uses these in his introductory college stagecraft classes, displaying what different types of equipment are.

Subject: Tech Theatre Textbook
This may have been covered before, but it's a timely thing and I don't have time to search: I have 3 students in separate classes who I need to set up with an independent-type study on tech theatre. Recommendations for an all-inclusive text-type tech theatre book with good activities/assignments attached?
