"The Still Alarm" is a very funny one-act by George Kaufman for 5 males.

"The Barbarians are Coming" by Luigi Jannuzzi is also very funny for 3 males.

Both plays use a similar premise and could be paired if you need to maximize the number of performers.

DNA, by Dennis Kelly is a brilliant play. It can be gender neutral, and states so in the playwright's notes. It's fantastic onstage and for classroom workshops.
    Good luck!

For a two man show, ZOO STORY is a gripping one act.

"The Boys Next Door" there is a female role, but other theatres received permission from the publisher to alter it for one-act competition and eliminate that role.

Erwin Shaw's Bury the Dead can be cut into a one act play. I traveled it to district and state finals one year.
