Hello all,
I'm looking for resources on the Mid-Atlantic (also called Transatlantic) accent. My MS Fall production will be a 1930s-style radio play, and I'd like to incorporate this characteristic element, but I'm having trouble finding lessons and resources that I can share with my students. I know that there is a broad range of features that appear in this completely invented accent, but I'd like to find a simple how-to that can be shared with younger performers who don't have a lot of experience learning or discerning the intricacies of various regional accents.
Do you have or know of any guides, lessons, or other resources? Feel free to email me directly (
mahlerl@stlukesct.org) if you'd prefer.
Thank you!
