  • 1.  Help with Official Play Name Change

    ​Hello,
    Our school is looking to change the name of our spring production to something less specific than The Thespian Play (which is its title now).  There has been confusion over who is allowed to participate (anyone, not just Thespians), what fund money is to come from (Thespian Play vs. Thespian Club), etc.  I don't want to call it The Spring Play (blah).  So what do you all call your productions??

    We call ours the main stage production. It separates the productions that are produced through the ITS club from the class productions

    Good morning,

    We have two options we use. We have a smaller classroom theatre that is small so we produce our play on the mainstage. We call it Backstage on the Mainstage.

    We call them by their title. For example, CHICAGO.

    If it needs a generic title, it is the fall play, winter play, spring musical. This year we had two plays we called the December plays.

    We use All-School Drama which also is confusing since we do comedies too and some people think they will be attending a "serious" play.  But it distinguishes it from our "All-School Musical".  Also, anyone is eligible to participate.

    We used mainstage play/musical (which were the large productions) and studio play/reading (which were the more intimate black-box productions).
