We are presenting the Holocaust drama "Dark Road" at a Michigan One Act Festival.  Having a hard time finding a place where we can rent the striped uniforms for the concentration camp scenes.  Any suggestions of where to look or some sort of solution?  Thank you.

We did a scene from it and they used grey dresses from target.   Powerful play and a great vehicle for a strong female.  Break a leg.

Try Scrubs.  Make scrubs with striped material or buy scrubs and use a small roller and latex paint to do the stripes.  Be sure and put cardboard in between the fabric layers.  Scrubs are super easy to make, too.

Good luck and may all your theatre seats be filled,

There is a costume/prop rental place here in Kansas City called 'Have Guns Will Rent' and they have Concentration Camp Uniforms for rental. I rented them for our production of Cabaret.

We're actually working that piece now. We found the correct style of vertical striped fabric in a local surplus fabric store and turned it inside out to get the correct color. Don't forget the symbols on the left breast pocket area (which are different for the jews and the gypsy) with the number. Here's a picture. Hope this helps!

I love the idea of turning the fabric inside out to tone it down. One of many tricks of the trade. Did you also distress the completed dresses, or leave them as is?

We are also doing Dark Road. I know this is a couple of months old, but did you end up finding something that works? I am struggling with the same issue.
