Job Description: Director of Dance
Responsible for daily operations of a curricular and extracurricular dance program including curating an annual dance concert. The Director of Dance both teaches the student dancers and brings in outside choreographers in the rich tradition of visiting artist educators. The Director of dance organizes internal school performances and public performances.
Qualifications: Candidates should possess at minimum a Bachelor's Degree, preferably in the field of Dance, and teaching experience. A Master's Degree is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong communication skills
- Highly organized to manage a complicated rehearsal calendar
- Flexible and creative
- Physical ability to demonstrate choreography to students
- Confidence in choreography; submission of videographed choreography required with application
- Willingness to complete all manner of tasks related to participating in the life the school, such as serving as an advisor and participating in school committees
