    Hello!

I am directing a Commedia play in June and wanted to know if anyone had any recommendations on obtaining good quality Commedia masks. Willing to rent, purchase, or even create (if anyone has an crafty recommendations!). I want them to look as traditional as possible. Thanks!

My colleague just found this website that sells Commedia masks. They're quite expensive, but look traditional.

I have a set from this company:

    https://themaskery.com

It is a wonderful family business in the Pacific Northwest.

The masks look great, and they are really comfortable.

Hi Michael.  My friend, David Knezz, makes, rents and sells fabulous masks for commedia and a lot of other cool things. We used them for our production of A Comedy of Errors.     www.mask-maker.com

    Hi Michael,

I've always made my own plaster masks. They look pretty good and the actors design and make their own masks, which is a nice part of the process. It can be a bit messy, and make sure you remember to apply vaseline before laying down the wet plaster strips, but it's fun.

That being said, I happened upon this person who helps people make their own paper masks, and the end result looks pretty amazing.

    Good luck!

I made a reply, but not sure it was clear to whom I was referring. I used https://theater-masks.com/masks/commedia-masks/ and the masks are terrific.
