Greetings, we're trying to find a clever way of doing the tattoos in the musical Dogfight. The "Three Bees" tattoos, particularly for Birdlace, who has it and loses it at various points in the show, and for our Big Tony character.

Thoughts on how to make tattoos that are easily donned and doffed?

    Thanks much!

Alcohol paint (palette starts at $75) won't run with sweat and sets nicely in the skin for that tattoo look. You could sponge it on with a stencil. If you know someone at your school with a cricut, you could cut custom stencils.

    What about henna temporary tattoos?

Those could be interesting if your kids are willing to wear them for a few weeks and you're not worried about school dress codes that forbid it. Just keep in mind if you sleep with your face on a henna tattoo, you will henna your face.
