    Hi folks,

I'm looking to make some updates on my duo scene unit and looking for very contemporary play/scene suggestions. I have a very diverse group of actors who are interested in both comedy and exploring social issues. I'm always lacking in quality 2m scenes as well. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Thank you!

Off the top of my head,
2 F scene in Proof by David Auburn (Claire/Catherine).
2M scene in Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead.
    M+F scene in Radium Girls (Tom/Grace), M+F (Roeder/Mrs. Roeder in act 2)
    Reviving Ophelia: M+F (Alex/Lia) and 2F (Allie/Allie's Mom)
    Stardust (one-act) by Joanne Koch M+F (Luanne/Arthur)

I may come up with more later

If you don't know I and You by Lauren Gunderson, I recommend checking it out and purchasing a copy immediately!

I've used these successfully in class:
    • Mrai/Dray in Force Continuum by Kia Corthron (M/F)
    • Katurian/Topolski in The Pillowman by Martin McDonagh (2M)
    • Jeremy/Fatima in Unmerciful Good Fortune by Edwin Sanchez (M/F)
I think there's a good teenager characters M/F scene in Dominique Morrisseau's "Pipeline." There's also at least one great scene between young-ish characters, M/F, in her play "Skeleton Crew."

I need to rotate my drama curriculum every 3 years for my advanced drama class. Can anyone share lessons or units for a duo scene unit?

I'll second the Pillowman - lots of 2m sections to choose from. It's dark and you will probably need to clean up some of the language. My classes have loved working on the scenes.
