When using make-up airbrushes be sure the user wears a respirator that is properly fitted. Be sure the student does not breath in the makeup that is being sprayed or it is sprayed up his or her nose. Lung damage from makeup is a serious issue as well as some hair products. Health and safety issue around this issue is part of the education, theaters teachers must know with using any-kind of airbrush and/or toxic chemicals. Hair and makeup chemicals being sprayed and other harsh chemical can cause more than just lung damage. The national expert on health and safety around these issue is
Arts, Crafts, And Theater Safety (ACTS) Monona Rossol

I have been in shows in NYC where over half the cast and crew is on medical inhalers for their lungs so they can breath and the lung problems where all cause from chemical exposure in the theater. I Personally know a little about this issue because I was exposed on a
SAG commercial shoot to a chemical that did major damage to me for up for 5 year +.
SAG came in a stopped the shoot, once they found out about what was going on, unfortunately it was 3 days into the shoot. When using airbrushes be sure you know the health and safety side of it. If you do not know the safety side of it you must find out. Yes these are fun tools to use. But not at the cost of students health or yours. The school classroom is one of the places your students set their habits for using tools like this.

Subject: Airbrush system for makeup
Can anyone recommend an airbrush system for our theatre department. I'm looking for quality and durability. We are novices in airbrushing makeup but need to learn for our spring show!
