    Hi everyone,

Teaching a semester-long high school theatre arts class. Any quick recommendations on accessible (non-classical) monologues? Thanks in advance!

The Monologue Show (From Hell) by Don Zolidis (Playscripts) might work for you.  Also, for longer monologues you could look at The Right to Remain Silent by Mark Fauser and Brent Briscoe (Eldridge Plays).

David, there is a wonderful book of monologues with directions by Jon Jory. It is called The Audition: Monologues with Direction. It can be found on the Stage Partners' website: https://www.yourstagepartners.com/

You will need to create an account with Stage Partners to see the book, but the account is free. All of the monologues are age-appropriate for high school, and Jory gives some specific directions at the end of each monologue. Hope this helps.

Theatre Folk also has specific instructions for script and character analysis on specific monologues.

I have many of these books, and have found them to be fantastic resources.  I'm still in a bit of a pickle though...

Since my students are all still remote, I have no way to distribute books to them in any kind of a timely manner--and I certainly don't have multiple class sets of these monologue collections.  I need to direct my students to online resources.

Does anybody have any recommendations for high quality online monologue resources for high school students in an intro to theatre class?
