    Hello!

This year I will be teaching a semester long course - Acting for Musical Theatre. I am searching for texts, literature, etc that would be appropriate for my high school students. Has anyone taught this type of course before? What would you recommend?

I use many different resources but for technique look at David Craig's book "On Singing Onstage" I begin with the ONE exercise.
i have taught MT for over 20 years and always use this exercise as it requires looking at the story behind the song. Have fun!

There's a great book called acting the song. I recommend writing your curriculum based on this book.

    Have a swell day!

Acting in musical Theatre is a terrific book that breaks down the styles (operettas to rock musicals), giving thorough lists of conventions for each. Also has great exercises.
