I directed
The Adventures of Robin Hood that was published by Classics on Stage 5 years ago and had so much fun with it. It provided lots of casting options, the playwright has two versions, expanded cast and smaller cast. I liked the opportunity to showcase my female actor's in stage combat as well as the male actors. I incorporated some dance numbers and had a lot of fun with entire adventure of the piece. I think it would be an ideal script for you to consider. You can also read most of it online.
http://www.classicsonstage.com/scriptsrobinhood.htmlI found it had a nice amount of humor and that helped keep the audience laughing. The sword fighting sequences are as many or as few as you desire. I had about 7, and that helped with the pace and excitement in the show.
Here's to a grand adventure!

Has anybody done a production of Robin Hood? Looking for a great outdoor show for late spring. If so, best adaptation? Thanks!
