My students love to play Party Quirks, but they never seem to get any better at carrying on the dialog or, more importantly, bringing the game to a satisfactory conclusion. Does anybody out there have ideas or tips on coaching them on a strong ending for each game?

Teach the things you want to get out of the scenes (endings, dialogue, etc.) independently of the quirks. Just open scenes without restrictions, once they have mastered those, then add the "quirks" in.

My younger students have a habit of falling into a "Guessing Game" instead of an improv game. I sometimes side coach or stop the game entirely when this happens, reminding them that creating a scene is always preferable to guessing a "correct" answer.
