    Does a student have to active in his/her school's thespian troupe/drama club to be eligible for other things, such as all state shows?

    Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that this varies from chapter to chapter.

    Here in Florida, students are not required to be ITS members in order to participate in our district or state Thespian festivals.  However, a school must have an active ITS troupe in order to participate.

    I'm struggling because I found out a student from my school, who is not involved in our troupe, participated in the state show.  I thought they were supposed to be involved with their school's troupe.  She tried out for a show her freshman year, but refused her role (swing and ensemble) She has not participated at all in theatre in our school since.  I wish her the best; but feel she is missing opportunities at her own school.
