    Hello theatre friends,

I’m looking to rent the barber chair for Sweeney Todd. Anyone around Louisville or St Louis able to assist in finding one?

    Hi Crit

NIU has one in our prop inventory.  It has an endless swivel, will fully recline with one lever and convert to the slide with a separate lever.  It cannot convert to the slide unless it is lined up with the trap.  It comes complete with the trapped platform.  The chair is detachable and can be installed as part of the show.  The trap is released with two DC fired pneumatic cylinders that will not allow the trap to open if anyone is standing on it.  There must be a technician below the trap holding a dead-man switch to ensure that the path is clear before the trap will fire.

We are located about an hour west of Chicago.

I think I attached some short videos :-).

Let me know if you are interested.

    Thanks!!
