    I have an advanced acting student who is putting together an independent study with me to direct a 20-30 minute one-act play. Can you recommend any short one-acts for 2-3 actors? Thank you!

    If you're okay with heavy subject matter I'd take a look at "I Dream Before I Take The Stand" by Arlene Hutton (Playscripts). It's a 1 man/1 woman show and tackles the issue of victim shaming in sexual assault.

    There are several publishers that have great short plays for student directors: Playscripts, Theatrefolk, Dramatic Publisher, Dramatist Play Service, Youthplays. You want your director to buy in, so have them look at their online cataglogues. Several publishers provide electronic scripts, so you could have the play instantly.
