We have just started using ShowTix4U for our ticketing and so far we love it! We are anticipating a problem with our spring musical this year that I would like to avoid. In the past, we have given people who buy patrons or program ads comp tickets as an incentive to support the show financially. We allow these supporters to come pick up their comps and purchase additional tickets prior to public sales starting as another perk. We end giving several hundred comps per performance. In talking to the reps from ShowTix, there is no way for us to allow patrons to get their comps online - at home. So, they will have to come to the box office to get them (as they have in the past). But now - it takes a quite a bit longer to pull up a seating chart, have them pick seats, check them out and print the tickets. We are anticipating a loooong line for patron night (even with 4 stations printing tickets).
So, my question is - how do other schools reward the people who buy patrons/ads other than comps? We would like to get away from comps so people can buy tickets online at home.
