Have any of you out there done Little Mermaid, Jr and have costumes to lend? I'm taking care of the main characters, but I could use help with the 'seafolk' and others. I don't have money to rent.
    Thanks!

    Martha,
We went very simply with our costumes.  I had three moms who made "pajama" pants out of shiny teal, green, and blue fabric - cheap stuff.  Then, I had each student bring in a long sleeved shirt in the same colors.  We had a bunch of fabric scraps and the kids had to sew thme on their shirts themselves (around the neck, sleeves, arms, etc.) to create a flowing look.  It worked great, took time off the costumers and the kids loved helping!

You really could get by with tops/bottoms same color, use colorful paint on them if needed, caps are wonderful "heads" when painted and things are added to them. I had a very creative mom who came up with my underwater creatures. Sometimes we make things too hard, so think simple, simple, simple and cheap cheap, cheap :)
