We did the show 20 years ago and are planning to do it again this season. We only have three performances as well, but wanted to try to find a way to give each of the actors/variables a shot. So, going into closing night, we encouraged the cast members who spent much time in the audience to drop hints (we actually did an improv workshop before warm-ups to find effective ways to do this without being pushy or showing too much of our hand). It worked. By closing night, among Murderer, Datchery, and Lovers, all of our principals got their moment.

We produced this show some years ago and people still talk about it! The audience absolutely loves the interactive aspects. We did not rig the voting, however on closing night we did a special extended performance and featured the complete murderer confessions and two lover duets :)

Has anyone done this show? We are putting it on this fall and are curious about the voting at the end. We only have five performances and therefore obviously all the "suspects" won't get to do their Confession numbers. Two questions:
1 - Was voting ever an issue? What if a suspect was chosen by the audience more than once or twice? Did you adjust it to give opportunity for others?
2 - Did you give the actors with confessions another opportunity to perform those since they spent the time learning?
And any other thoughts on doing the show would be helpful. Thanks!
