  • 1.  Halloween/Ghost Skits or Monologues?

    Posted 07-14-2014 13:54
My drama classes have been asked to perform "'Twas All Hallows Eve" by Judy Beglau & Thomas Pavlechko with our local Civic Chorus singing the accompanying "Ghoultide Scarols" by Thomas Pavlechko".  We have been asked to augment the program with other monologues or short scenes for the concert.  Does anyone have any suggestions for good Halloween or ghost/scary pieces to consider?  Thanks in advance!

Hi Denise! What age group are you performing for? Are you looking for genuinely frightening pieces or more silly scary?

You might find some pieces in the poetry collection (not play) "Spoon River Anthology" by Edgar Lee Masters.

Are you looking more for multi-person scenes or staged readings? I ask because I once helped coordinate a community event in which community leaders did "spooky" semi-staged (or even non-staged) readings from classic/gothic horror lit, and I may have some ideas for you. ------------------------------------------- Ryan Moore Ferndale MI -------------------------------------------
