I love Sunbonnet Sue, that has always been one of my favorite monologues! I've not seen Tom Sawyer, so I'm not quite sure of the style you need, but I can think of some southern-ish plays to check out. Maybe take a look at:
-Steel Magnolias
-Crimes of the Heart (probably should stay away from the "lemonade" monologue though, it's crazy popular)
-Dearly Beloved
-Christmas Belles
-A Streetcar Named Desire
-Come Back to the 5 and Dime, Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean
-Other plays by Tennessee Williams
You might also try researching southern playwrights to find some lesser known works. Good luck in your search, let us know if you find any keepers!

Look for the Sun Bonnet Sue monologue from Quilters! Could be a great piece for you.

Hello!
I am currently auditioning for Tom Sawyer for Marshalls upcoming season... and I'm looking for good minute long monologues in that style!
So anything southern-esque! I'll take Male or Female monologues! I'll gladly share them with the others auditioning as well!
Thanks so much!
