  • 1.  Scenes for third and fourth graders

    Hello All!
Was wondering if anyone knew of an online resource for short scenes for 3rd and 4th graders?  We eventually will be creating our own material from improv exercises, but initially I would love for them to sink their teeth into some solid material. Any guidance would be helpful.

    Thanks!

Hi Charles! These threads about performing for elementary students might give you some places to start looking or help you find some good connections:

    Elementary performance

Starting an elementary school drama program

Plays for African American elementary students

Let us know if you find something that works!

Have you thought about a scene from something like Midsummer? At their age it shouldn't be any more difficult than any other scene and there are so many fun ones to choose from. Depending on how many you want per scene, I recommend Demetrius running from the Helena in Act 2 Scene 1 and the mechanicals production of Pyramus and Thisbe.
