About to start a production of Into the Woods Jr and have to cut it to 45 minutes for one particular competition. ( I was given permission from mti)
Any thoughts on how to cut without destroying story?? Any suggestions regarding the show in general?

Hi Heather! I don't have advice on the cutting, but I definitely recommend searching through past threads because there have been plenty of conversations on various aspects of Into the Woods that are likely applicable to the JR version:

I just did the junior version this summer and I think its crazy you have to cut it! it barely gets through the story as is! You could probably cut a few of Repunzels moments where all she does is sing offstage. I also felt like Cinderellas number, although pretty, "anything can happen in the woods" is not useful in this version as the depth to the story is not there. So you might be able to cut that part out as well.
